Having a Whaley Good Time in Bequia on Day 6
Aniya · Student
Hello all,
Today blog is going to be shared by Aniya and Ms. Lauren we want to let you in on our amazing adventure with sail future. Below we will each recount our day.
Today I woke up early with the sun and some friends by my side. It was such a beautiful way to start the day. After watching the sunrise Armani and I were met with a challenge. Mr. Hunter and Mr. Long picked us up on the dingy we got off and ran 3 miles up and down the mountain's taking in panoramic views of Bequia. Although Armani and I were not always thrilled when we saw the huge inclines Mr. Hunter, and Mr. Long kept positively pushing us to complete the run. When we finally got done our run we dove into the crystal clear water to cool off and came back to the boat with a million pancake options cooked by the gally team. When I arrived back to the boat Aniya and I picked our favorite pancake options. Aniya chose a plain, oreo, and cinnimin toast crunch pancake and said it was the best breakfast yet! After brekfast we did job duties. I helped the deck team for the first time and Aniya continued killing it on interior. After preforming all our job duties we headed to a local sailing school. Where students taught us about the boat and its mechanics. They set up a game for the Liguori crew, Aniya was on team Dill Pickles, who swiftly beat team blue. We learned a bit about Bequia culture including whale hunting which was preformed in a boat that was only slightly bigger then 20 ft. They used the whales blubber in the past to light all the streetlights and used it for fuel. The whale bones were also used for stools, furniture, Jewelry, and etc. We left the Sail school to walk through town Aniya and friends stopped at local stores where she had a few sweet treats.
Then we walked the board walk to the beach, where Aniya played with some dogs and snorkeled truly embracing all the wildlife Bequia had to offer. We headed home on the dingy where we were lucky enough to see the sun set with a breathtaking views double rainbow. Galley cooked some chicken alfredo which we all devoured. Aniya is looking forward to getting to Barbados tomorrow, and I am ready for a good nights rest to be prepared for our long voyage tomorrow.
Boundless Love,
Aniya and Ms. Lauren
